TROY, N.Y. - The Annual Let's Go Red! Golf Tournament, which benefits Rensselaer Athletics, took place at The Country Club of Troy on a hot and humid June 7. The event, which included alterations and precautions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, included over 120 golfers from 11 off-campus organizations and 14 groups affiliated with Rensselaer. The Office of the President, Alumni Relations, Institute Advancement, Auxiliary Services and Public Safety were among those that had foursomes.

Seventeen different Rensselaer Classes were represented, from 1967 to 2022, with 21 alumni/ae in the field. One alum, Dede Rudolph '87 (23'0") came closest to the pin to win the women's prize, while Mark Strife (4'1") was the men's winner. Jinell Bruso had the women's longest drive on No. 17 with Chris Green earning the honor for the men. The other longest drive hole was No. 7 with RPI head women's tennis coach Justin Roe claiming the men's prize and Laura Petrovic garnering the women's. Petrovic of BBL Construction was also on the victorious team, which also included Jeff Michaelson, Jeff Miner and Ben Rublee.

"Sachi Vines and her committee did an incredible job of planning and operating this important event," said Dr. Lee McElroy, associate vice president and director of athletics. "Our sponsors, alums and patrons enjoyed all aspects and because of everyone who participated, the experience for each of our nearly 600 student-athlete on our 23 teams will be greatly enhanced."

"The tournament ran effortlessly because of our department staff and volunteers," said Vines, the athletic department's director of marketing. "The personal interactions really made the event an enjoyable one."
