Between the Seattle expansion draft and the continued pressure of the flat salary cap, the conditions are ripe for an eventful summer of player movement in the NHL.

And the Red Wings, sitting on a veritable mountain of cap space, could be positioned to take advantage of it. But Detroit general manager Steve Yzerman will have plenty of his own business to take care of too, with eight players set to hit unrestricted free agency and 10 more set to become restricted free agents.

So, which Red Wings will stay and which will go this summer? Here’s a prediction for each player as the offseason begins.

Dylan Larkin

Not much explaining necessary here. Larkin is the Red Wings’ captain and best player, and while you can never truly say never in pro sports, Larkin’s spot has to be about as secure as it gets, even after a down year.
