Texas Tech (19-25, 3-15 Big 12) enters the tournament as the No. 6 seed and will compete in pool A with No. 4 Baylor (27-18, 8-9 Big 12) and No. 1 Oklahoma (42-2, 16-1 Big 12). Pool play kicks off at 11 a.m. on Friday as the Red Raiders face the Bears on Integris Field. The Red Raiders will then face top-ranked Oklahoma in the nightcap at 7:30 p.m. on OGE Energy Field.
The complete tournament schedule is listed below. All games will be shown on Big 12 Now on ESPN+ with the exception of pool B game one on ESNPU and the tournament championship game which will be broadcast on ESPN2 at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
RED RAIDER QUICK HITS
- The Red Raiders are 16-25 overall in the Big 12 Championship and hold a 3-1 record over Baylor and a 1-5 record over Oklahoma in the tournament. Tech has reached the Championship game just one time in program history, falling to Oklahoma 6-3 in the 2007 Championship finals.
- Freshmen middle infielders Riley Love and Arriana Villa were named to the All-Big 12 Freshman Team Wednesday afternoon after strong rookie seasons. Love was a unanimous selection after starting 39-of-44 games at shortstop for the Red Raiders making just two errors. Villa earned the nod after tying for second on the team in RBI, doubles and home runs.
- After Love's home run against Iowa State, every Red Raider with at least 10 starts has hit a home run this season. In all, 13 different Tech batters have tallied at least one home run. Love, along with Yvonne Whaley, Ellie Bailey, Kennedy Crites, Alanna Barraza and Villa each hit their first career home run this season. Heaven Burton's lone home run this season was an inside-the-park home run against Abilene Christian.
- The Red Raiders went errorless in the last series of the season, marking 22 games without an error for Tech. The Red Raiders longest streak of games without an error was six games from March 20-28.
