The 2021 iHeart Radio Music Awards kick off Thursday night in a live ceremony held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. Usher acts as both host and performer, with a total of 36 categories to be awarded. In a special presentation, Elton John is set to receive the iHeartRadio Icon Award in recognition of his cultural and musical legacy. Among those performing at the night’s event are Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak’s Silk Sonic, The Weeknd and Doja Cat, whose live rendition of “Kiss Me More” with SZA was an out-of-this-world addition to last Sunday’s Billboard Music Awards. Ariana Grande is also slated to appear after shocking the world with this week’s surprise reveal of her marriage to real estate agent Dalton Gomez. The Weekend, Post Malone, Dua Lipa, DaBaby and Harry Styles are in contention for song of the year, the top award of the night. Billie Eilish, Drake, BTS and many more are nominated in several other categories.
Early arrivals to the red carpet include TikTok star Charli D’Amelio in a heart-stopping black dress, with Lil Huddy and Ava Max embracing head-turning red.
