"This is not a weekend to mow dry grass," KCRA 3's chief meteorologist Mark Finan said. "People pulling trailers should make sure they are not dragging chains that can create sparks and start a grass fire."

IT IS GOING TO STAY WINDY ALL DAY LONG SO JUST KEEP THAT IN MIND IF YOU HAVE OUTDOOR PLANS TODAY. WIND SPEEDS VERY STRONG, MAINLY ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE VALLEY. RIGHT NOW IN FAIRFIELD AT 30 MILES PER HOUR OUT OF THE NORTH. 13 IN SACRAMENTO. 24 IN YUBA CITY. LIGHT BREEZE OUT OF THE NORTHEAST IN AUBURN AT THREE MILES PER HOUR, BUT THESE WINDS WILL PICK UP TODAY. WE ALREADY HAD A WIND GUST AT 22 IN SACRAMENTO, 36 MILES PER HOUR WHEN GUST IN YUBA CITY. SUNNY SKIES, VERY WARM TEMPERATURES AND LOTS OF UPPER 80’S. A FEW SPOTS COULD SEE THE 90’S. IF YOU LIKE IT SUNNY AND WARM AND YOU DON’T MIND THE WIND, IT IS GOING TO BE A REALLY GOOD DAY. THAT WILL CONTINUE THROUGH TOMORROW AND MONDAY, INCREASING OUR FIRE DANGER FOR THE REGION, THAT IS WHY WE HAVE THE RED FLAG IN PLACE THROUGH THE DAY TODAY AND MONDAY. I WILL FORECAST HIGH, 89 DEGREES. TEMPERATURES ARE ABOVE AVERAGE. THE RECORD IS 100 DEGREES, SET BACK IN 2001. LOOKS LIKE WE WILL SEE MORE HEAT LATER NEXT WEEK. I WILL SHOW YOU THE NUMBERS, COMING UP. ON SATELLITE AND RADAR, WE HAVE CLEAR SKIES AND PLENTY OF SUNSHINE. IT WILL BE A DRY DAY, JUST HAVE TO DEAL WITH A STRONG WINDS. WE HAVE A TWO PRESSURE SYSTEMS, LOW TO OUR WEST AND HIGH TO THE EAST, THAT IS WHAT IS KEEPING THE SUNSHINE IN PLACE. MOTHER’S DAY WILL BE WARM AND WINDY SO WATCH OUT FOR THAT IF YOU HAVE PLANS TO BE OUTDOORS. IT WILL BE WINDY THROUGHOUT THE DAY SUNDAY. NOT AS MUCH WIND ON MONDAY, BUT STILL BREEZY, AND IT WILL BE WARMER AS THIS LOW PRESSURE STARTS TO LIFT OFF TO THE EAST. HIGH PRESSURE STARTING TO BUILD BACK INTO THE IN WEDNESDAY, LOOKING LIKE IT IS GOING TO BE QUITE WARM, LOW TO MID-90’S EXPECTED THROUGHOUT THE WORK WEEK.
