The Red Wings arrive in Raleigh on the heels of a 7-1 defeat at the hands of the red-hot Nashville Predators. Bobby Ryan, who totaled 14 points (7g, 7a) in 33 games, has not played since March 28 and will miss the remainder of the season with an upper-body injury. On Friday, Detroit traded defenseman Patrik Nemeth to Colorado in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft.
The Last Meeting
The Canes saw their eight-game winning streak end in a 4-2 loss in Detroit on March 16. Adam Erne tallied two power-play goals in the first period to help the Red Wings gain the special teams edge. Nino Niederreiter and Sebastian Aho tallied for the Canes in the loss.
