LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech (12-8) completed the series sweep of New Mexico (1-18) with a 1-0 win off Morgan Hornback's complete game two-hit shutout Saturday afternoon at Rocky Johnson Field.

Despite scoring just one run, the Red Raiders scattered nine hits with Riley Love and Kennedy Crites leading the way with two hits each.

The lone run of the game came in the bottom of the second after a leadoff double from Love and a single from Crites put runners on the corners with no outs for Arriana Villa. Villa picked up an RBI on a sac fly to left that scored Love to put the Red Raiders on the board.

Love and Crites got things going for Tech again in the fourth inning with back-to-back singles, but the next three Red Raiders went down in order to end the scoring threat.

The Red Raider defense was spectacular again, led by a strong performance in the circle from Hornback who retired the final six batters of the game to give Texas Tech the series sweep.

Hornback (1-1) went the distance for the Red Raiders allowing just two hits, no extra base hits, and tied her career high with four strikeouts. She was backed up by a defense that has been rock solid through 20 games this season with a number of web gem plays and a .982 fielding percentage.
