As a team, the Red Raiders managed the lowest final-round score among the 15-team field after combining on a 3-under-par 285 to jump up two spots from the start of the day to second place. Tech was at 2-under 862 for the tournament as one of only two teams to finish the event under-par.
Anna Dong was the highest individual finisher for Tech's lineup in a tie for fifth at 2-under for the tournament. Dong started off on fire with birdies on the first three holes en route to a 3-under 69 final round. Amy Taylor also added an under-par final round, firing a 2-under 70 to conclude the 54-hole event at 1-under and in a tie for ninth. It marked the second top-10 finish of her career.
Gala Dumez finished in a tie for 13th at even-par, while Cecilie Nielsen rounded out Tech's lineup in a tie 18th after both had 1-over 73 final rounds. Valentina Gilly, meanwhile, put together her best round of the tournament at 4-over 77 to finish tied for 57th individually.
Oklahoma State claimed the team title, wrapping the two-day event at 15-under despite a 4-over final round. Tournament host North Texas dropped two spots over the final 18 holes to come in third at 1-over followed by Oklahoma at 6-over and Houston at 7-over to round out the top five.
Tech topped seven schools ranked in the top 50 of the latest Golfstat rankings despite playing without its normal leader in Sofia Garcia, whose schedule conflicted this week with the Augusta National Women's Amateur. Garcia is slated to tee off the prestigious event from Augusta on Thursday.
The Red Raiders will next be in action April 11-12 at the Cowgirl Match Play hosted by Oklahoma State, their final event prior to heading to Houston later in the month for the Big 12 Championships.
