Former Philadelphia Union midfielder Brenden Aaronson is making an impact just five games into his RB Salzburg tenure, scoring a superb game-winner in the team's 3-1 win over Austria Wien on Wednesday.

With the teams tied at 1-1, Aaronson received a pass from teammate Mergim Berisha down the side of the box and danced around a defender before finding a sliver of space in between two defenders to score a curling shot, sending the ball straight into the top right corner in the 72nd minute.
The result has Salzburg in first place in the Austrian Bundesliga, one point ahead of Rapid Wien.
Aaronson started for Salzburg, coached by ex-New York Red Bulls head coach Jesse Marsch, and has received steady playing time since joining the team in January. He made his debut on January 24 in a 2-0 win over Rheindorf Altach, and has started two of the five matches he's played for Salzburg so far.
The 20-year-old Philadelphia Union homegrown product made 51 MLS regular season appearances since his 2019 debut and last year was voted No. 1 on MLS's 22-Under-22 list presented by BODYARMOR.
