The Red Raiders (12-5, 4-4 Big 12) have been ranked throughout the season in both polls, starting at No. 14 in the AP Preseason Poll and rising to No. 10 last week. The Sooners made the leap from No. 24 to No. 9 this week following wins over Texas and Alabama last week. OU (11-4, 6-3 Big 12) is on a five-game winning streak entering the game.
Texas Tech is at No. 11 in the NCAA NET rankings, while OU is No. 17 coming into the ESPN Big Monday matchup at the United Supermarkets Arena.
Gonzaga (17-0) remains the top-ranked team in the nation, followed by Baylor (16-0), Villanova (11-1), Michigan (13-1) and Houston (15-1) in the top-5. The Big 12 is also represented by No. 6 Texas (11-3), OU at No. 9, No. 17 West Virginia and No. 23 Kansas. Additionally, Oklahoma State is receiving the most votes outside of the AP Top 25.
Texas Tech is currently 1-4 in ranked vs. ranked games this season with its win coming with a 79-77 victory over the Longhorns back on Jan. 13 in Austin. The Red Raiders started with a 64-53 loss to then-No. 17 Houston on Nov. 29 in Frisco, Texas and also dropped games to Kansas, Baylor and West Virginia.
Following tonight's game against the Sooners, the Red Raiders will play at Kansas State on Saturday in Manhattan, Kansas before hosting No. 17 WVU in a rematch next Tuesday in Lubbock.
