Once again, as in the destructive downtown “protests,” we are witnessing unbridled lawlessness due to a lack of leadership from the mayor and police. Any other country in the world would put these behaviors to a quick end. It’s time to start using drones to photograph and identify violent offenders and use a police strike force to enforce the law. Water cannons and any other nonlethal means to stop the violence should be employed. It’s time to end the unlawful chaos Portland has become nationally infamous for. Non-enforcement of the law is empowering these criminals.
