PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) - The Limestone Community School will continue in the red model for Wednesday.
According Principal, Ben Lothrop, at the Limestone Community School, they along with the Maine School of Science and Math are still awaiting Maine CDC test results.
Both schools are in a red model due to a potential case of COVID-19 at the magnet school.
Principal Lothrop says they will plan to stay in the red model for tomorrow’s school day and students at MSSM will continue to quarantine. Principal Lothrop adds this is out of caution.
“We’re just in wait and see mode. We were hoping to be back in school tomorrow but because there’s no results we’re going to have to wait. Given the situation we would all rather be in person learning…but given the situation with health and safety at the forefront, I think our kids have a great opportunity to still learn with distance learning.”
Lothrop adds that schools will continue to follow CDC guidelines as they await the test results.
