From staff reports
“Left on Red,” the Daily Mountain Eagle’s political podcast, returns from summer hiatus this week.
Podcast hosts Jennifer Cohron and Drew Gilbert have changed the format to focus exclusively on current events as Election Day 2020 nears. New episodes will be released weekly.
"Left on Red,” the Eagle’s first and only podcast to date, debuted in October 2019.
The first season focused on Walker County’s relatively swift switch from being a Democratic stronghold to a Republican one by telling the stories of people from both parties who experienced it.
Guests from the first season included State Sen. Greg Reed, U.S. Sen. Doug Jones, former Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville and former state Rep. Ken Guin.
Season Two began in March and included interviews with State Rep. Connie Rowe, Oakman Mayor Cory Franks, former ADECA director Jim Byard Jr. and Walker County native James Tingle, who is working on the Biden campaign.
“Left on Red” is available on all major podcast platforms.
