Red Salmon Fire Update - Now Over 12,000 Acres

The Red Salmon Complex — which includes the Red and Salmon fires — stands at 12,101 acres with 35 percent containment, according to this morning's update.
In the Red fire, protection efforts for historical and cultural sites around Salmon Summit and High Point Trail Head will continue, the update states. The Red fire is at 19 percent containment. The Salmon fire is at 79 percent containment. The update states the strategy is for this fire and the Red fire to burn together along the northwest corner of the Salmon Fire.
A Red Flag Warning will be in effect for the fire and surrounding areas due to expected abundant lighting.
